Requirements

• Account requirements: 60+ Herblore (not boostable to enter) and completion of Children of the Sun to access Mastering Mixology.
• Recommended: 78+ Herblore for balanced paste usage and 81+ for access to all potion bases (including Mixalot) and best XP/resin rates.
• Supplies: Unnoted clean herbs or unfinished potions to refine into mox, aga, and lye paste; at least 3 free inventory spaces is ideal for turning in 3 orders at once.

Rewards (resin shop)

While you play, you earn mox, aga, and lye resin which can be spent at the Mixology Rewards shop:

• Progression upgrades
  • Prescription goggles – 10% chance to save secondaries when making potions.
  • Potion storage – unlocks dedicated bank storage for potions, unfinished potions, and vials.
  • Alchemist's amulet – improves chance of getting 4-dose potions (15% vs 5% on amulet of chemistry).
  • Reagent pouch – holds up to 26 of each Herblore secondary (requires 81 Herblore to use).
  • Chugging barrel – lets you drink up to five different potions at once while at a bank.
• Cosmetics & other
  • Alchemist's outfit pieces (labcoat, pants, gloves) for skilling fashion.
  • Potion packs (Apprentice/Adept/Expert) that convert resin into mixed potions.

All of these prices are paid in a combination of mox, aga, and lye resin, with the main progression set (goggles, potion storage, amulet) costing roughly 23.2k mox, 19k aga, and 25.7k lye resin in total as per the OSRS Wiki data.

Experience rates

• Active play (all speedups, 81 Herblore, using all three machines well)
  • Around 70,000 Herblore XP/hour.
  • Roughly 3,000 of each resin per hour, at a cost of about 2,000 of each paste per hour when playing efficiently.
• Passive / relaxed play (no speedups)
  • Around 45,000 Herblore XP/hour at 81 Herblore, with proportionally lower resin rates.
• Refining herbs only
  • Pure refining gives about 16,500 Herblore XP/hour from processing ~2,750 herbs passively (plus whatever XP you later gain from using the paste in the minigame).
